Pedro Silva Dias
Pedro Silva Dias was born in 1963 in Lisbon, Portugal.
Graduated in Product Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon (1987), lectures in the same institution since 1996 and completes a Ph.D. in Equipment Design in 2015. He has worked as a designer since 1987, year of his atelier’s foundation. Its activity comprises projects in the fields of product, furniture, lighting, street furniture, industrial products, environments, graphic design and publishing, exhibitions, stage design, and signage, among others. His work has been displayed in Portugal, Italy, France, and Germany and he was awarded the National Design Award in 1998/99. Some of his projects include the permanent collection of MUDE – Lisbon’s Museum of Design and Fashion.
Together with Burel Mountain Originals, Pedro created a modern design ‘Corque Chair’ with burel coating.
